2. Core principle: all data stays on your device

WGHT LOG stores all entries – weight, date, notes, tags and settings – exclusively locally on your device. There are no servers, no user accounts and no transfer of your health data to us or third parties. At no point do we have access to your data.

The app requires no registration and no account. It works fully offline.

3. No ads, no tracking, no analytics

The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising identifiers. There is no "app tracking" in the sense of Apple's App Tracking Transparency, so no such dialog is shown. No usage profiles are created.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit) – optional

At your explicit request, the app can synchronise your body weight and height with Apple Health (HealthKit). This feature is disabled by default and only becomes active once you enable it in the settings and grant permission.

Only body weight and height are read/written.
The data remains within Apple Health on your device or in your personal iCloud (if you use Apple's Health iCloud sync). We receive none of it.
Health data is not used for advertising, not shared with third parties and not used for any purpose other than displaying your weight history.
You can revoke the synchronisation at any time in the app or in the iOS settings under Health > Data Access & Devices.

5. Notifications / reminders

If you enable weigh-in reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. This requires your permission, which you can revoke at any time in the iOS settings. No data is transmitted to us in this process.

6. Biometric lock (Face ID / Touch ID)

Optionally, you can protect access to the app with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Authentication is handled entirely by the operating system; the app only receives a "success" or "failure" response and no biometric data.

7. App permissions

The app only requests permissions that are required for the respective feature:

Apple Health – only when Health synchronisation is enabled.
Notifications – only when reminders are enabled.
Face ID – only when the biometric lock is enabled.

No location data, contacts or photos are requested or processed.

8. Data security

Your data is stored locally and protected by the security mechanisms of iOS (sandboxing, device encryption). No transfer to external servers takes place.

9. Price / in-app purchases

The app is free and contains no in-app purchases or subscriptions.

10. Deleting your data

Since all data is stored exclusively locally, you have full control at all times. You can delete individual entries, irreversibly remove all data via the settings, or uninstall the app – which deletes the locally stored data.

11. Your rights (GDPR)

As we do not collect or process any personal data from you, we hold no data about which we could provide information or which we could delete. Regardless, under the GDPR you have the rights to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17) and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
